Paulette’s certifications and experience include treating various chronic pain conditions like TMJ Disorder, chronic pelvic pain and disorder, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease and Osteoarthritis. She also has extensive experience working with motor vehicle accident victims, various neurological conditions, pregnancy massage, sports massage and remedial exercise. She practices Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and Active Release Therapy.

Both daughters competed at the national level and her eldest has worked as an acrobatic artist performing with Cirque Du Soleil and her youngest is a successful highland dancer. Paulette has gained invaluable experience, both as a mother and a massage therapist, through the experiences of her daughter’s athletic journeys.

Lisa has been an acupuncturist for 6 years, receiving a three year diploma of Acupuncture from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC, the oldest Chinese medicine school in Canada. Lisa completed her fourth year of study with high honours at Pacific Rim College, from which she received her diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2011.

Prior to her studies of Chinese Medicine, Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. Passionate about health, Lisa worked in the health care field as a support worker for physical and mental health. She also spent time traveling and living in Europe, and teaching in South Korea.

Lisa successfully treated cases of chronic pain, gynecological disorders including infertility, digestive disorders, and insomnia, among many other health issues. She uses a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, diet therapy, tui na massage, cupping therapy, gua sha and electro-stimulation to treat her patients.

Laura has provided excellent care to a wide variety of clients over the years, supporting elite athletes, circus artists, dancers, pregnant women, seniors, desk workers and everyone in between. She has supported her clients through frustrating and painful conditions, empowering them with the tools and knowledge for effective home care and practical lifestyle changes.

Laura is a massage therapist known for her deep-tissue work, however, her well-rounded education also includes Swedish massage, myofascial release, triggerpoint therapy, joint mobilization and more. She has sought out further training in various self-care methods, magnesium oil massage, Indian head massage, jade stone massage and advanced deep-tissue techniques. Laura has found frequent success in treating stress, headaches, chronic back/neck pain due to postural imbalances, plantar fasciitis, whiplash, and athletic injuries; as well as managing Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, and other chronic pain syndromes.

Laura’s interest in health and anatomy bloomed from her love of dance. Following this passion took her to Toronto where she studied dance intensely, becoming a popular instructor and performer. She began studying massage therapy at the renowned Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching ­Clinic’s 2200 hour program in Toronto, graduating in 2009 as Valedictorian. Laura successfully completed the Ontario board exams and began her practice as a member of the elite team at ProCare Rehab led by Karen Orlando, one of the top physiotherapists in Canada and a vital member of the Olympic and Paralympic medical team.

In 2011 Laura moved home to Halifax and opened Serpentine Studios, where she currently leads weekly dance and therapeutic exercise classes as well as performing regularly in the Maritimes and abroad. A member of MTANS, Laura has recently moved her practice to Dartmouth, where she now lives with her husband and baby boy.

Shannon is a massage therapist and yoga/meditation instructor, her treatments involve deep breathing, visual meditation for pain and stress relief, and education through movement to help you manage your pain individually. Shannon is very goal focused in her treatments in order to give you the relief you need, and strives to deliver a holistic approach to healing.

Shannon has experience in pre-natal and postpartum massage and sports, and arthritis massage. Additionally, she has experience treating a variety of conditions including myofascial pain, chronic pain, symptoms of stress and anxiety, TMJD (pain in the jaw), and much more. She has plans to complete her Level 1 Reiki, John Corey’s TMJD Mastery Course, and Cupping Massage certifications within the first year of her practice.

Complementing her massage and yoga education, Shannon has extensive experience working with individuals who cope with ADD/ADHD and who are on the autism spectrum. With the goal of decreasing levels of stress and hyperactivity in mind, Shannon is interested in exploring the benefits of massage therapy and yogic practices to help optimize their personal quality of life and happiness.
